Shield
The colors buff and scarlet are colors traditionally associated with Support Battalions. The red chevronels are symbols of strength and denote the three types of support the Battalion provides (supply, maintenance and medical). The gauntlet and sword allude to combat and military preparedness, reflecting the units mission as a Forward Support unit.
Crest
The crest is that of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was approved on 11 May 1990. It was amended to revise the blazon of the shield and crest on 1 June 1990.
